Growing up in Pennsylvania, I have been surrounded by gorgeous farmland, woods, and mountains. The beauty of the natural world around me sparked my interest in light, color, and texture. I wanted to capture the sensations I felt when looking out at the world around me.
As I've gotten older, I have become nostalgic for the simpler times of my childhood. Through painting, I have begun to reclaim objects and memories from growing up. These paintings have helped me recontextualize the parts of my childhood that I wish to keep as fixtures in my origin story.
I enjoy working plein air during the warmer months in addition to my time in the studio. In the studio, I work from observation, invention, sketches, and photo references.
